Silica Gel

Hailing from Ansan, a coastal city not far from Seoul, Silica Gel are one of the most celebrated South Korean bands since 2015, having picked up no fewer than six Korean Music Awards, and stand as one of the leading names in the local alternative scene. At the time of their debut, the line-up featured Kim Han-Joo (김한주; vocals and keyboards), Kim Min-su (김민수; lead guitar), Kim Geon-jay (김건재; drums), Goo Kyung-mo (구경모; bass) and Choi Woong-hee (최웅희; second guitar). They later trimmed down to a quartet, without losing any of their expressiveness or originality.
