NewDad

Hailing from Galway, Ireland, NewDad are a quartet active since 2018, made up of Julie Dawson (vocals, guitar and main songwriter), Sean O'Dowd (guitars), Cara Joshi (bass) and Fiachra Baslow (drums). After a first EP released in 2021, "Waves", very close to the Slowdive sound, the following year with "Banshee" they began broadening their stylistic horizons.

The turning point comes in early 2024 with the release of their debut album, "Madra", which draws attention to the quartet even beyond British borders, blending a guitar-pop side with the vulnerability expressed in soft, enveloping tracks. But the new sources of inspiration come above all from rummaging through the old trunks of female-fronted indie-pop and nineties-rooted post-grunge.

In September 2025 it's "Altar"'s turn.
