Matías Aguayo is a Chilean-German musician, producer and DJ, one of the most original figures in contemporary electronic music. Born in Santiago, Chile, and raised in Germany after his family went into exile during the Pinochet dictatorship, he made his name in the early 2000s with the duo Closer Musik, a key player in the most innovative period of the Kompakt label. After his solo debut with "Are You Really Lost?" (2005), he won international attention with albums such as "Ay Ay Ay" (2009) and "The Visitor" (2013), works that redefined the relationship between club music, vocal performance and Latin American rhythmic traditions. Founder of the Cómeme label, a crucial platform for spreading a global, decentralized vision of dance music, Aguayo has kept exploring ever-new sonic territory, from the radical "Support Alien Invasion" (2019) to the recent "Anenoa" (2026), confirming himself as one of the freest and most unpredictable personalities in contemporary electronic music.
