William John Paul Gallagher, better known as Liam Gallagher, was born in Manchester on 21 September 1972 and is a British singer-songwriter, formerly frontman of Oasis and of Beady Eye, the band formed after Oasis split up and active until 2014.
Liam is currently active as a solo artist. In Oasis, Liam was the lead singer and co-writer of some songs together with his older brother Noel, the band's other key figure.
A leading figure of the Britpop movement, Liam Gallagher is one of the most iconic and talked-about figures in modern music.
His raspy, gritty voice and his trademark pose – hunched forward with his hands clasped behind his back – make him instantly recognizable.
In March 2010 he was named “THE greatest frontman of all time” by Q magazine. Two years later he was named “THE greatest frontman of all time” by radio station Xfm as well, which ran a dedicated poll among its listeners.
In November 2012 he was voted best frontman once again by NME readers on Facebook, Twitter and Yahoo.
After Oasis split up, in May 2010 he formed a new band, Beady Eye, active until 2014.
He was the band's frontman and co-writer of several songs across their two albums. In 2016 he launched his solo career, debuting in 2017 with his first full-length, "As You Were", which topped the UK charts and was certified platinum the following year, selling over 300,000 copies in the UK.
His second solo album, "Why Me? Why Not", released in 2019, reached number one on the UK charts - Gallagher's tenth chart-topper counting the eight he scored during his time with Oasis - and its vinyl edition was the fastest-selling vinyl release of 2019.
2022 saw the release of the Manchester artist's third solo work.
"C'mon You Know" paints the portrait of a Liam Gallagher who is calmer and gentler compared to the swagger that has always defined both his artistic and personal life.
