Lazza

Lazza is the stage name of Jacopo Lazzarini, a Milan native born in 1994 active as a rapper and producer, and a credible heir to Guè Pequeno, from whom he inherits the raw language, the lethal technique and the persona of the streetwise, womanizing, dangerous Milanese. After taking part in Tecniche Perfette in 2009 and a series of mixtapes, he debuts with “Zzala” (2017), presenting himself to a wider audience as a young, ambitious trapper obsessed with riocontra (Milanese verlan), foul language, self-exaltation and misogyny. The appearance of Salmo and Nitro on “MOB” acts as a seal of approval, inducting him into the scene that matters. He also starts making a name for himself as a producer, racking up his first FIMI certifications, and with “Re Mida” (2019) he puts his talents to better use, confirming himself as fierce and refined, this time moving between hardcore hip-hop and trap. Numerous high-profile collaborations follow, including one with Guè Pequeno: it's almost a passing of the torch. After the brief mixtape “J” (2020), packed with collaborations that seem mainly designed to cement his name, comes his third album “Sirio” (2022), which takes on the challenge of incorporating more singing and choruses without fully betraying his past: its success on Spotify makes it the most-streamed album of the year.
