Laura Loriga is a singer and pianist born in Bologna.
Her work has developed over the years between Italy and the United States.
Her songwriting, built around piano, organ and voice, is often enriched by other electric and acoustic elements (nyckelharpa, viola, harmonium, double bass).
The result is a series of dark, wide-ranging compositions, rooted in both folk and classical tradition and experimentation. With her main project, Mimes Of Wine, she has released three albums: “Apocalypse Sets In” (2009), “Memories for the Unseen” (2012) and “La Maison Verte” (2016), performing with her band in numerous concerts.
In spring 2022 Laura released a fourth album (her first under her own name), produced in New York between 2017 and 2019, featuring valuable contributions from members of Mimes of Wine as well as other musicians including Josh Werner, Otto Hauser, Anni Rossi and Janis Brenner.
The album is titled “Vever” and is released by Ears&Eyes Records.
Besides Mimes of Wine, Laura has collaborated with several other artists, including Giardini di Mirò and singer-songwriter Jaye Bartell.
In recent years, she has also contributed to writing several film scores, continuing her ongoing work with composer Leo Z (Los Angeles), with whom she has made a series of projects including a sound piece for painter Nicola Verlato and a collaboration with producer Adam Moseley.
