Founded in 1997, Ismo Alanko Säätiö (Ismo Alanko's foundation) marked a new turning point in the Finnish musician's career. More than just a band, it was an open collective where singer-songwriter rock, Finnish folk, chamber music and experimentation coexisted in a personal, ever-evolving language. Thanks to the contribution of musicians such as Kimmo Pohjonen and Teho Majamäki, the group developed a sound rich in acoustic instruments, orchestral arrangements and prog influences, culminating in albums such as "Pulu", "Sisäinen solarium" and "Hallanvaara". While it evolved over the years towards a more rock-oriented sound, the Säätiö remained Alanko's most ambitious creative laboratory, proving that artistic exploration and popular success could go hand in hand.
