Giorgio Poi

Giorgio Poi was born in Novara but raised in Rome. After spells in London, Berlin and the States, 2017 saw the release of “No Big Deal”, released via Bomba Dischi/Universal and met with great favor from press and critics alike. A singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, he has built a career on relentless live activity and fruitful collaborations with artists on the Italian and international scene.

In 2018 he took part in the Eurosonic festival in Groningen, followed by a mini European tour. Phoenix fell in love with his music and invited him to open their shows in Milan (March 2018), Paris (May 2018), New York (July 2018) and Los Angeles (September 2018). Also in the early months of 2018, Giorgio Poi took on artistic production duties for Francesco De Leo's debut album (Bomba Dischi). At the same time came fruitful collaborations with Frah Quintale on the track “Missili”, produced by Takagi and Ketra (Undamento, Bomba Dischi, Pltnm Squad), and with Carl Brave on “Camel Blu”, featured on the album “Notti brave”. Giorgio also took part in the making of the new album by Calcutta, “Evergreen”, playing guitars on the record and performing live alongside the singer-songwriter from Latina at two major shows at the Latina stadium and the Arena di Verona.

In 2019 he released his second album, “Smog”. Following the record's release, Giorgio set off with his band on a successful tour across Italy, racking up numerous sold-out shows.

Also in 2019, he wrote “Prima di partire” for Luca Carboni, included on the Bolognese singer-songwriter's album “Sputnik”. He also collaborated with Franco126 on the albums “Stanza Singola” (2019) and “Multisala” (2021), playing guitar and bass.

After composing the original soundtrack for “Summertime” (Netflix), he returned in autumn 2021 with “I pomeriggi”, a single marking his comeback to the scene, and “Giorni felici”, written drawing inspiration from the book of the same name by comic artist Zuzu, who also designed the track's official artwork for the occasion.

In December 2021 came “Foam Rubber“, again released by Bomba Dischi under license to Island Records/Universal Music Italy. Very active abroad, Poi began venturing beyond Italy's borders in 2018, opening the Paris shows and the 10 American dates of Phoenix's tour. In 2022 he collaborated with the French duo Rob & Jack Lahana on the single Haute saison, featuring Gordon Tracks (aka Thomas Mars, frontman of Phoenix). In 2023 he released the track “Chromosomic Avenue” in collaboration with Leon Larregui, opening for him in Mexico City. Also in 2023, he performed twice in Paris: in June at Le Trabendo for the Fiore Verde Festival, and in July in the courtyard of the Louvre for the Cinéma Paradiso Louvre Festival.

In 2024 he released “Tic Tac” in collaboration with Swiss singer Muddy Monk, and that same year Poi embarked on an Asian tour, performing at the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing, Nankai University in Tianjin, and the Y Theatre in Hong Kong.

2025 is the year of “Splinters“, the album that refines Giorgio Poi's songwriting to an even deeper, more sophisticated degree.
