Drab Majesty

The name Drab Majesty has been around since 2012, when Andrew Clinco debuted with an EP titled “Unarian Dances”. The Californian artist was later joined by Alex Nicolaou. Their output can be filed under the most melancholic and dreamlike darkwave (we might even stretch to the term tragic wave). Three albums so far: the solid debut “Careless” (2015), the superb “The Demonstration” (2017) and the more recent “Modern Mirror” (2019).

Drab Majesty

Tragic wave from outer space

For some time now, the Californian duo has been considered one of the leading names in the latest generation of darkwave, thanks to an eclectic sound paired with an immediately recognizable androgynous look. The music of Andrew Clinco and Alex Nicolaou is pure, aching melancholy, filtered through a hazy retro-futuristic landscape strewn with dreamlike sensations.
