Born in 1976 in Ascoli Piceno, Dario Faini devoted himself to studying piano from a very young age. After early recording experiences with the bands Elettrodust and Ki-Mono, the real turning point came in 2006, when he signed a songwriting contract with Universal Music. Over the years he would go on to write for a great many Italian artists, racking up gold records and millions of streams. Among his many achievements, at least two wins at the Sanremo Festival deserve a mention: in 2019 with "Soldi", performed by Mahmood, and in 2024 with "La noia", sung by Angelina Mango.
While playing a leading role in reshaping the coordinates of Italian pop, Dardust has in parallel carved out, with ever-growing authority, a place for himself in the "high-brow" circles of modern classical, releasing widely acclaimed albums accompanied by increasingly sophisticated live shows, moving fluidly between neoclassicism and contemporary sensibility.
