Demond Price, aka Conway The Machine, born in Buffalo, New York in 1989, was the victim of a shooting in 2012, shortly after getting out of prison. Hit in the neck and head, he carries on his face and in his slurred speech the marks of a life lived firsthand on the streets, amid crime, violence and excess. Tightly bound to the Griselda label founded by Westside Gunn, he launches his career with numerous mixtapes and collaborations, landing a deal in 2017 for an album with Eminem's Shady Records. The wait for this album is only partly offset by other collaborative releases and mixtapes, as well as a sort of "album before the album" titled "From King To GOD" (2020). Finally, in 2022, "God Don't Make Mistakes" arrives, an unfiltered account of his traumatic past and the struggle to break free from it.
