Carmelo Pipitone

Guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter and producer, Carmelo Pipitone was born in Sicily, in Marsala, in 1978, where he spent his early years and — while still very young — studied guitar and wrote his first songs. In 2001 he moved to Bologna, where — together with Giovanni Gulino — he formed Marta Sui Tubi, a project that would keep him busy for 15 years, reaching the peak of its popularity thanks to an appearance at the 2013 Sanremo Festival. During his time with Marta Sui Tubi he had the chance to collaborate with many highly renowned artists, including Lucio Dalla, Franco Battiato, Enrico Ruggeri, Antonella Ruggiero, Paolo Benvegnù, Moltheni, Marlene Kuntz and Cristina Donà.

From 2015 he embarked on a solo career, releasing the albums "Cornucopia" and "Segreto Pubblico" (2020, right in the middle of the pandemic), followed in 2023 by the live album "Solo dal vivo" and in 2024 by "Piedi in Acqua". Alongside this, he has developed other well-regarded and successful projects, including Dunk (with brothers Ettore and Marco Giuradei, Luca Ferrari of Verdena and Riccardo Tesio of Marlene Kuntz) and O.R.k. (with Pat Mastelotto of King Crimson, Colin Edwin of Porcupine Tree and Lef, formerly of Obake and Berserk).
