Carla dal Forno is an Australian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.
Previously a member of Mole House (2010–2013) and Fingers (2013–2017), Dal Forno has released three solo studio albums: "You Know What It’s Like" (2016), "Look Up Sharp" (2019) and "Come Around" (2022).
Carla dal Forno began her musical career in Melbourne in 2010, playing in various local bands while also earning a fine arts degree. With friends Micky Zulicki and Pat Breen, she formed Mole House, releasing a handful of singles and EPs on Quemada Records. She later joined in forming Fingers (also known as Fingers Pty Ltd) alongside Sam Karmel and Tarquin Manek, and teamed up with the latter again in the duo Tarcar.
Fingers were marked by a haunting folk-darkwave sensibility, with shadowy vocals, stretched-out acoustic guitars, fluid bass lines and sparing touches of synth.
During 2014, the artist moved to Berlin, where she worked on her solo debut album starting that same year. "You Know What It's Like" was released by the London label Blackest Ever Black in October 2016.
After Blackest Ever Black closed down in 2019, Dal Forno released her second album, "Look Up Sharp", on her own label Kallista Records, moving to London for the occasion.
In 2022 Carla returned to her native Castlemaine, Australia, a place that spurred her to make her third solo album, "Come Around", released that November. The title track was issued as the lead single in August.
Four years later, in the same town, she recorded her fourth work, "Confession". The record shifts her post-punk language toward a sharper, more melodic coldwave, without giving up the usual electronic tensions and a songwriting shot through with desire, obsession and unease.
