Candra

Candra was born in Livorno. She grew up in the provinces, between the sea and a complex relationship with her hometown, which would become central to her songwriting. She started writing and playing very early on, moving independently and staying away from structured career paths. Her move to Milan marked a phase of observation and gathering of stories that flowed into "Bonola Boy", her debut album released in 2022. A record warmly received by critics, it tells of a descent and a climb back up, of her relationship with the city, of addiction and loss of control, marking the start of a path built step by step and in total independence. After a break, Candra returns with "Splendida in croce", a more mature and reflective work that continues the conversation opened by her debut, shifting the focus from the need to escape to the attempt to rebuild. Her songs stem from a primal expressive urgency and keep songwriting at their core, moving between rock and singer-songwriter territory, free from rigid production logic.
