Bruno Duplant is a musician and composer living in northern France. Self-taught, his sonic practice is deeply rooted in the research of 20th-century avant-garde, drawing in particular on Cagean theories of silence and chance, as well as the principles of musique concrète.
A highly prolific artist, he has often intertwined his vision with that of numerous other artists, proposing shared paths that embrace two distinct modes of collaboration. Alongside the standard approach, built on full synergy, sits a body of work in which he appears as composer paired with a performer/interpreter entrusted with open notation and tasked with giving it a particular final form. This is the case with "L'infini des possibles" (in collaboration with Guy Vandromme), "Lettres et Replis" (Reinier van Houdt) and the recent "La Disparition" (Renato Grieco).
In 2021 he joined the Dissipatio roster with "Nocturne Incertain", an interesting collaboration with Julien Heraud, a label for which he will release in 2026 the hermetic solo work "Athanor".
His musical writing is marked by a strong narrative streak, revealing his love of literature and photography, two further artistic fields he cultivates.
