Riccardo "Blanco" Fabbriconi, born in Brescia in 2003, perfectly embodies the transformation of Italian music in the early 2020s. Like Madame, he's candid in his lyrics and highly emotional in his delivery, but like Anna Pepe he started out from a type-beat and his success arrived suddenly, driven by word of mouth online. Like Maneskin, he climbed to the top of Spotify's global charts; like Achille Lauro, he plays with rock, blending disparate, distant references through a thoroughly contemporary lens.
Blanco, too, belongs to that borderland between trap, pop and r'n'b that Mahmood has already explored successfully, between solo work and numerous collaborations.
After featuring on the hit "La canzone nostra" (January 2021) by MACE and after the breakout success of "Mi fai impazzire" (June 2021), with Sfera Ebbasta, he cemented his success with his debut album "Blu celeste" (2021, five-times platinum and a launchpad for further hit singles) and then with his win, alongside the aforementioned Mahmood, at Sanremo 2022 with the ballad "Brividi".
In 2023 came his second album, "Innamorato", on which he chose Mina as his sole guest. After years of exhausting media exposure, Blanco took a step back, returning only with "Ma'" (2026), a third album listened to with the weight of expectation reserved for works seen as decisive: after such a rapid rise, this one is meant to be a consolidation.
