Avril Lavigne

Avril Ramona Lavigne was born in Belleville, Ontario (Canada), on September 27, 1984. From an early age she decided that music would be her path in life, and she began acting and singing in church before enrolling in acting and singing classes. Avril started writing songs at the age of 14, and thanks to her exuberant personality she quickly made a name for herself, to the point that she landed her first record deal in 2000 with Arista Records. Her debut album, "Let Go", was an instant worldwide success, driven in particular by the single "Complicated". Her musical style was initially close to punk-rock, but over time it became more pop-rock and increasingly melodic.

Avril Lavigne has also worked as an actress in several films and has appeared in numerous TV series. She also owns a fashion line for teenagers called Abbey Dawn. As for her private life, she has been married twice (to Deryck Whibley and Chad Kroeger), divorcing on both occasions, without having any children.

In 2015, she announced that she had Lyme disease, staying away from the music and film world for a while.

Her comeback came in 2019 with the album "Head Above Water", followed two years later by "Internet Killed The Rockstar".

Among the awards she has won over her career: 5 ASCAP Awards, 7 BMI Awards, 1 Echo Award, 3 Guinness World Records, 9 Juno Awards, 9 MuchMusic Video Awards, 3 Teen Choice Awards, 6 World Music Awards, and 26 MTV Awards worldwide.
