A band based in Reading specializing in melodic yet biting arena-rock, fronted by singer and guitarist Matt Thomson and completed by Chris Alderton on guitar, bassist Elliot Briggs and Joe Emmett on drums. Formed in 2014, they debuted with their first album "The Amazons" (2017), straddling indie-rock and guitar-driven alt-rock, included by «The Telegraph» among the best records of the year, and earning an Mtv and Bbc nomination as most promising emerging act. Their defining songs are "Junk Food Forever" and "Black Magic", harmonic anthems that still turn up at most of their shows, marked by big choruses and an epic drive.
Their second effort "Future Dust" (2019) pushes the band toward much darker hard-rock and garage sounds, bringing them to the attention of a wider audience with the tracks "Mother" and "Doubt It", while the subsequent and more optimistic "How Will I Know If Heaven Will Find Me?" (2022) plays with and reworks their debut's anthemic formula, leaning toward pop and acoustic Americana, while occasionally revisiting some of the sounds explored on their sophomore record. For Thomson and co., energetic live performances and a close bond with the audience are their real strength, having built a solid fanbase after years on the circuit in British and European venues, and as an opening act for Muse, Greta Van Fleet, Royal Blood and many others.
