Alsogood

Born in Reggio Calabria but Milanese by adoption, Francesco Lo Giudice – the real name of producer and multi-instrumentalist Alsogood – founded Italy's first instrumental hip hop-jazz trio, Figùra, with whom he released the album “Place to Be“ in 2018 (on Inchpersecond Records). Between 2019 and 2022 he released several works for prestigious labels, gaining wide media exposure, including internationally.

In 2024 he signed to Island Records and released his first solo work, “Elsewhere“: a contemporary jazz record featuring Grammy-nominated producer and musician DJ Harrison (Stones Throw), legendary Brazilian drummer and Azymuth founder Ivan Conti “Mamão”, and Maria Chiara Argirò.

In 2026 he released his second album, “1000 Smiles”, in which he blends organic hip hop rhythms with jazz insights and melodies carrying intimate, introspective atmospheres. The project's mission, as explicitly stated by the artist, is to affirm harmony in an age dominated by digital chaos and speed, sifting through everyday experience to extract only its beauty. To give shape to these ideas – only seemingly utopian – Francesco crafts ten tracks of great refinement which, while embracing a wide range of styles and influences, keep a hyper-contaminated form of jazz at their core. “1000 Smiles” is a deeply organic work in which black music, Mediterranean atmospheres and Brazilian rhythmic spirituality meet the freedom of contemporary jazz, electronic suggestions and the compositional freedom of hip hop. Ten tracks written and recorded between Milan and Vicenza, which don't merely explore new sonic territories but define a genuine aesthetic stance. Adding further shine are two notable collaborations: one with Canadian producer and multi-instrumentalist Datsunn, a key figure of the soul-beat community, on “Beautiful Things”, and one with esteemed Italian rapper Johnny Marsiglia on “2.30 am”. Among the touchstones that guided the writing of the album, Alsogood himself cites Azymuth, for their ability to turn jazz-funk into an almost meditative experience, as well as Terrace Martin and Madlib – the latter in particular for his innate ability to move between different styles while crafting expansive rhythm sections. The pristine sound production brings out every nuance, amplifying the warmth, brightness and clarity of these exquisite compositions.
