72-Hour Post Fight

An avant-jazz project devised by two producers, Luca Bolognesi, aka Palazzi d'Oriente (also behind the well-received solo work "Sheltering Water"), and Carlo Porrini, better known as Fight Pausa and formerly a member of Leute. Drummer Andrea Dissimile and saxophonist Adalberto Valsecchi round out the quartet.

After their self-titled 2019 debut and an interesting remix collection, it's with the release of "Non-Background Music" (2022) that the four begin carving out a solid following. Compared to their earlier work, the structures are streamlined in favor of a "song format", though without ever giving in to mainstream temptations, staying firmly rooted in experimental, avant-garde territory.

The stated aim is to create a stylistic blend, using electronics and a mutant strain of jazz as starting points onto which the most disparate elements are grafted, drawing in some way on the lesson taught by BADBADNOTGOOD and Sons Of Kemet. The moods conjured are decidedly nocturnal, the songwriting shows elegance to spare but can turn claustrophobic and unsettling at times.
